Tip 1: Try a New Way to Dry

Frequently blow drying or pressing hair with curling irons, straighteners or hot rollers can damage hair and leave it feeling dry, brittle and dull.

Try allowing your hair to dry naturally as often as you can. If you have some extra time in the morning, this technique can be a great change of pace and a perfect way to cure cases of the "morning flats" often experienced by evening-washers.

Wash your hair as usual and gently blot dry with an absorbent towel.  Vigorously rubbing hair can cause frizzy hair and split ends.

Prevent hair from becoming to flat or frizzy by finger combing it or using large clips to hold it back while it dries.  A couple of well-placed clips can produce some serious natural volume and waves.

Find the products best suited to your hair type and texture. Mousses and sprays often work best for fine hair while curly or wavy hair often responds best to gels and creams. Find a leave in conditioner or another product suitable for your hair type to combat frizz and keep your hair manageable while air drying.

See what new results you can achieve with an occasional air-dry.  Give your hair a much-needed vacation from the heat.
